Bauer’s Premium Jerky started the way a lot of great family businesses do — as an idea talked about for years before finally becoming too good to ignore.
Founded in Colorado by Jake and Bill Bauer, this father-and-son brand grew from Bill’s homemade jerky recipe, a passion for barbecue and smoked meats, and one very consistent message from friends and family: you need to sell this stuff. Bill had been making jerky for years, starting with beef from the store and smoking it with the kind of care that only comes from someone who genuinely loves the craft. For him, great food has always been about more than flavor — it’s about making people happy and bringing family together.
In early 2026, Jake and Bill decided it was time to quit talking and just send it. Bill brought the recipe, the experience, and the craftsmanship. Jake brought a fresh perspective, a love for cooking, and the energy to help turn a family favorite into something built to grow.
Bauer’s Premium Jerky is rooted in quality, family, and craftsmanship — and built with the belief that the best products come from people who actually care. What started around family, smoke, and a love for good food is now becoming something much bigger.
